Why we serve

Our mission

Restoring Truth Ministries exists to help people know Jesus Christ, understand God’s Word, and live with hope, purpose, and love. Whether you are exploring faith, finding your way back, or ready to grow, there is room here for your questions, your story, and your next step.

Through honest biblical teaching, prayer, worship, and compassionate care, we walk alongside people as they learn to follow Jesus and put His Word into practice—in their homes, relationships, decisions, and everyday challenges.

Jesus is our foundation, His Word is our authority, and serving people with humility and integrity is our responsibility.

At the heart of our mission is this commitment: Telling God’s Truth, His Whole Truth, and Nothing But His Truth.

About the ministry

Who is Restoring
Truth Ministries?

Restoring Truth Ministries Inc. is an online Christian ministry centered on Jesus Christ and the truth of Scripture. We exist to help people know Him, understand His Word in context, and grow in a faith they can live out every day.

Our name reflects our purpose: to return to what God’s Word actually says, examine what we have been taught, and let His truth reshape how we live. We encourage people to open the Bible for themselves, ask honest questions, and grow in discernment.

We serve through Bible studies, Sabbath services, prayer, worship, and daily encouragement. Our heart is to welcome people wherever they are in their walk with Christ—whether they are beginning, growing, or finding their way back.

Jesus at the center

Jesus is the head of this ministry. Through teaching, prayer, and worship, we point people toward a relationship with Him and encourage them to follow His Word.

Truth with accountability

We read Scripture in context and examine our teaching in light of the Word. We value honest questions and the humility to acknowledge and correct mistakes.

People served with care

We are committed to treating people with dignity, listening to their questions, and offering encouragement without spiritual pressure or financial manipulation. Faith should be nurtured with honesty and love.

The heart behind RTM

Why this ministry began

Restoring Truth grew out of a deep concern for God’s people and a conviction that they deserve honest teaching. As Bishop TL Gooden recognized his call to ministry in 2023, that purpose began taking shape. By May 2024, experiences with manipulation and ministry centered on a leader’s interests strengthened his resolve to answer the call to start Restoring Truth Ministries.

That beginning continues to shape our responsibility: handle Scripture with care, keep Jesus at the center, and serve people with integrity. The name “Restoring Truth” is a reminder to keep returning to God’s Word ourselves as we help others do the same. Our desire is for people to know why they believe what they believe and to follow Christ with understanding.

Growing together

A faith that reaches everyday life

Faith reaches into our homes, our relationships, our decisions, and the way we treat people. Through our messages, gatherings, prayer, and Daily Truth, we encourage people to carry what they learn into those everyday moments: extending forgiveness, choosing honesty, showing compassion, and trusting God through difficult seasons.

You can come with questions, a desire to grow, or a need for prayer. Take time to listen, read the Scriptures being shared, and consider your next step. Whether you are learning about Jesus for the first time or returning after a painful church experience, our heart is for you to feel welcomed, heard, and encouraged. We are growing too, and we want to walk alongside you with humility and love.

Our foundation · John 8:31–32

Jesus calls His disciples to remain in His Word, know the truth, and walk in the freedom He gives. That invitation shapes our purpose and the way we serve.

the people behind RTM.

Restoring Truth Ministries Inc. begins with a conviction that shapes everything we do: Jesus is the head of this ministry. Our responsibility is to serve Him, handle His Word honestly, and walk alongside people who want to know Him.

Bishop TL Gooden, founder and senior servant, and Lady Nicole Gooden welcome you as people with a shared life of faith, marriage, and service. Beyond the screen and the titles, they are a husband and wife continuing to seek God and grow in their own walk with Him.

There is room here for the person opening a Bible for the first time, the believer with difficult questions, and the person finding their way back to Christ. You can bring your questions and your story into the conversation.

Their story together

Before you met them online.

TL and Nicole first met while working at Lowe’s and married on December 31, 2011. When they met, Nicole was already walking with Christ. TL credits her obedience to God with helping him truly turn toward Him.

Her faith made an impression through the life she lived. Watching her follow Christ became part of his own journey toward God—a deeply personal beginning to the faith and service they now share.

Founder & senior servant

Bishop TL Gooden

A husband, a father, and a servant of Jesus whose heart for truth grew out of his own journey toward God.

Bishop TL knows what it is to need light in a difficult season. He describes Nicole as someone God sent into his life when he was at his worst. Her obedience helped him see faith lived out, and her example became part of what drew him toward a real relationship with Christ.

In 2023, TL and Nicole came together in recognizing the call for him to begin a ministry. By May 2024, that calling had become especially clear. An experience surrounding ordination in another ministry brought his concerns about leadership, manipulation, and the treatment of God’s people into sharp focus.

He had grown tired of seeing people misled and ministry centered on personalities, pressure, and financial schemes. He understood God to be calling him to start Restoring Truth Ministries—a ministry that would keep God at the center and handle His people and His Word with care.

That conviction still shapes his teaching. He asks who is speaking, who is being addressed, and what the surrounding passage tells us. His style is plain, direct, and conversational, with everyday examples that help people connect Scripture to the life they actually live.

His commitment to truth also means taking another look at things he once accepted or taught. When closer study reveals a mistake, he believes a leader should acknowledge it and explain the correction. He invites people to open their own Bibles, ask honest questions, and examine what they hear.

He uses the title “founder and senior servant” because Jesus is the ministry’s true leader. His desire is to help people grow in their relationship with Christ, understand the Word, and learn to recognize manipulation for themselves.

RTM’s motto captures the responsibility he keeps returning to: “Telling God’s Truth, His Whole Truth, and Nothing But His Truth.”

Leader · Wife · Woman of faith

Lady Nicole Gooden

Leading alongside Bishop TL, with a heart for helping women see who they are in Christ.

Lady Nicole Gooden leads alongside her husband in Restoring Truth Ministries. She brings her own calling and a particular passion for women: helping them understand their identity in Christ and grow in the truth of who they are in Him.

Her faith is woven into RTM’s story. When she and TL met, she was already following Christ. He credits the obedience he witnessed in her life with helping him truly find God. Her influence on his faith began through her daily walk with Him.

Today, that same heart for God is part of the leadership they share. Nicole’s place at RTM includes her voice as a leader, her leadership alongside Bishop TL, and her desire to see women grow in their relationship with Christ.

Beyond ministry, she loves people, enjoys life, and especially treasures time with family. TL describes them both as humble, goofy people who love to laugh and have fun together. The woman visitors meet in ministry is also a wife and a woman whose family is close to her heart.

Their life together

Faith, laughter,
and a life shared.

Ask TL what their marriage has taught him, and his answer is personal: he believes they were meant to walk through life together. They have battled together, cried together, sown together, and reaped together. He calls Nicole his life partner and describes her as the light God sent when he needed it most.

They are also two people who love people, love life, and love having fun. Both are goofy. Both value humility. TL loves sports, and Nicole especially loves spending time with family. Their shared life includes laughter and ordinary moments alongside the work of ministry.

That is part of the heart behind RTM: a husband and wife continuing to seek God, stand together through difficult seasons, and enjoy the life they share.
